What is leftover, and why does it matter?

Leftover is income you’ve actually received, minus the bills you’ve already paid, minus anything you’ve parked in a savings pot.

It’s not a guess. It’s a number that updates when you add a bill, mark something paid, or move money into a pot.

If you’re short, leftover tells you that before the month runs away. If you’re ahead, it shows you what you can safely use.
